Wow! Just got back from 5 days with Redtread and cannot fault it.
When I looked through previous reports about Redtread before I left, I thought they sounded too good to be true, I must be able to find some thing wrong with them, but they proved me wrong. This place has it spot-on.
Believe me, this is a holiday of a lifetime. The terrain/scenery is just unbelievable.
Our guides Jim and Ed were fantastic blokes, not just for the confidence Jim gave by his pace up at the front, and Ed, who picked up the tail enders/dropped bikes at the rear (without ever complaining about the damage to his bikes), they are genuinely friendly people.
Lesley and Adrian were the best hosts you could hope for, and it would be worth staying at Redtread just for Lesley’s famous cakes and home cooking!
There is an extremely well stocked bar at Redtread, which runs an honesty tab, so you just help yourself to drinks anytime of the day, the best one being, on the return form a days riding, an ice cold San Miguel, while sitting outside on a balcony, overlooking the beautiful town of Competa, while the sun goes down over the mountains that you have conquered that day, and talking to your newfound companions about the thrills (and spills!) you have all had.
Many thanks to Lesley, Adrian, Jim and Ed
p.s. Jim/Ed, hope you both survive ‘mad dog’ till we hopefully meet again next year.
