A memorable 2 day off road motorcycle tour

When are the tours available?

The tour will be run in the warmer weather due to the altitude you will climb to, so is available in April, May and October, although we may run other dates at our discretion.

Here is an example of a Sierra Nevada tour

• Arrive. 25th April, riding the actual Sierra Nevada Tour on the 26th/27th April, departing on the £28th April. Cost is £745 pp.

Who can ride this tour?

• You must have been riding road bikes competently for 4 to 5 years
• You must have done off-road riding and be of sportsman/clubman ability or above.
• You must be relatively fit
• You must be a team player: This is a long distance tour and riding as a team is essential.

The Tour

We can arrange airport transfers or you can hire a car to get you to the Redtread Country House from Malaga Airport. Whichever way you choose, it takes approximately 50 minutes to get to us here in Nerja. .

Upon arrival, we will show you around the property and its facilities, you may want to detour into our bar for complimentary sandwiches; we will then show you to your room and leave you to settle in. Depending on your arrival time we will get you kitted out in your riding gear to help speed the morning up. The whole evening is yours to enjoy.

Riding day 1

In the morning, breakfast is served at 7.00am. We will go through the safety briefing, get you fully kitted out in your protective riding gear (if not done the day before) and also talk you through the “sweeper system” used here at Redtread. This will help you to fully understand the benefits of using this technique so you will feel more comfortable riding out with us. At approximately 8.30am we will head off for the day riding over towards Alcaucin, and behind the national park towards Jayena. At approximately 2pm we will stop for lunch, this is included in the cost of your riding. We will eat in a typically Spanish Restaurant and enjoy a laid back lunch of approximately 1hr whilst chatting about the mornings riding. After lunch, we get back into our gear and head off again back onto the trails for a few more hours trail riding, normally we land back at the hotel for around 5pm so you have time to relax with a beer, take a swim and chill out. During the day we will stop at intervals so you can take drinks onboard and we take photos throughout the day, we will also check you’re ok! Depending on the route we take, expect to cover around 280km.

Riding day 2

For your second day, breakfast will be served at 8.30am and we will be away from the Hotel and onto the trails for 9.30am. Today’s route will take us onto open trails, forestry tracks, river crossings and rocky sections but will always be in keeping with the group. You will be challenged, not defeated! Guidance is always on hand for you throughout the days riding. At approximately 2pm we will stop for lunch, this is included in the cost of your riding. We will eat in another typically Spanish Restaurant and enjoy a laid back lunch of approximately 1hr. After lunch, we get back into our gear again and head off onto the trails for a few more hours riding bikes, normally we land back at base for around 5.30pm so you have time to relax and top up with a complimentary piece of homemade cake, enjoy another beer, take a swim, and chill out. During the day we will stop at intervals so you can take drinks onboard and we take photos throughout the day, we will also check you’re ok! Depending on the route we take, expect to cover around 220km.

Day 3

Breakfast on day 3 is from 8.30am or earlier if you required. You’re free to take it easy before heading back to Malaga Airport or maybe do a little sightseeing if you have an evening flight. We don’t put a check out time on our rooms so you’re free to keep the room as long as you like, providing we don’t have people arriving that day.

Breakfast, kitted up and set off for the day, riding approx 200kms.

Overnight in a 3 star hotel

The Landrover Defender 110

The Redtread back-up vehicle (Landrover Defender 110) will take your overnight bags and meet up with you at the hotel, where 3 members of Redtread will be staying overnight with you. All the necessary bike servicing equipment is carried in the Landy.
