Other Activities

Redtread´s number one passion is to ride bikes, but we understand that people bring along partners that may have other interests….

Whilst these ladies (and laddies) can take full advantage of our gloriously sun bathed terraces, well stocked bar and refreshing private pool, we can offer some other local distractions apart from the delights of the shops and market of our local village

Scuba Diving

Scuba Doo are the longest standing and most respected diving business on the coast. The company are based a short drive from Redtread and offer a collection and drop off service for our customers. All protective and safety equipment is supplied by Dave, the owner of Scuba Doo, who during his “normal” working life was head of safety in the North Sea for British Gas, and spent his days as Captain of a large ocean-going ship overseeing the divers working on British Gas´ deep sea pipelines. Dave is fully and highly qualified and holds all the currently available PADI certificates. Scuba Doo are fully insured and are registered with the Spanish authorities. If you are a novice wanting a “try-dive” or a fully qualified diver, I am assured by Dave and people who have gone diving with him, that our coastline has an abundance of interesting dive sights available. Dives are available all year round so just let Redtread know if you would like to book a trip and we will organise it for you.

Jeep Safari

The Jeep tour is recommended for those who want an insight to the Andalucian Mountains and the flora and fauna, wildlife and spectacular views of unspoiled coastline.

The day starts in the National park, where you will have a brilliant opportunity to see the wildlife of this unspoilt area. The local guide shares his knowledge of the area while explaining about the history, flora and fauna that is typical for this part of Andalucia. The tour then continues up to a vantage point with a spectacular view, where tea, coffee and soft drinks are available.

After further travel in the "Sierras" of Almijara and Tejeda, a stop at a restaurant with a fabulous view, offers the opportunity to enjoy an Andalucian meal. (Vegetarian option available)

The tour continues across the mountains once more, in the direction of a picturesque waterfall. Guests always remember that day out with the local guide, and remark that they have seen the traditional rural side of Spain, passing farmers and goat herders up in the mountains with the old fashion way of living.
