Mick is a great character who is totally dedicated to his racing. The drive and commitment shown by Mick is truly exceptional and he deserves to do well in an environment dominated by works teams and riders. Mick will be riding for Honda UK aboard his trusty CRF450X and is looking to be top British finisher again. Hopefully his dream of a top 20 overall finish will come to fruition this year.

Honda Update...

Because of the extremely dusty environment that our bikes work in virtually every day, we have to expect that sooner rather than later, we will have to replace the titanium inlet valves on the 250 and 450 engines. We had to do exactly the same on the Suzuki DRZ engines too last year. So we found a great supplier for the new steel valves and special spacers, genuine Honda valve springs and gaskets which we needed to do the job. Martin Brough, a partner with Zoom Factory in Warwickshire, supplied us with technical information and all the parts and tools we needed to complete the job here in Spain. Martin did exactly what he said he would do and more besides.

So over the space of 3 days, we replaced the inlet valves on 11 CRF's and are back to enjoying riding again!

Our CRF's are proving to be a fantastic choice of motorcycle. We are making great headway in convincing the Off-Road world that all that glitters is not orange. The brilliant handling, excellent engines and perfect build quality across the whole range of Honda CRF's is showing its true colours. The colour is definitely red. Better than the rest, you'd better believe it!

In September this year we got a phone call from the BBC1 film crew who make the popular Living In The Sun programme and they had chosen us from hundreds of companies in Southern Spain to be part of their "success stories" programme due to us being very different from the rest.

The film and sound crew came to Redtread along with the very professional director and presenter Kristian Digby and filmed Sal and Ian at the fab Redtread Country House along with some footage of Kristian and Ian playing on the bikes. The crew were very impressed with the property, the Honda CRF range and also Ian's riding skills along with the professionalism of Team Redtread.

The programme should be aired on BBC1 a the beginning of 2008.

Shires magazine, eat your heart out!

If you came riding with Redtread in 2007 then you most probably rode out with our Chief Sweeper Dougie.

Dougie is a real asset to Redtread by being a great people person and a hard worker as well as being a helpful back man by trying to ensure riders stay safe and learn lots. I'm sure those of you who've ridden out with him remember his little sayings - "start the bike in neutral" and "elbows up" He's even getting good at the running commentary on the videos!

Dougie owns his own Bed and Breakfast called Casa Azahara in the village of Competa and was a carpenter by trade in the UK.

When Dougie started riding with Redtread, he'd only done a little off road being shown by a fat old bloke who didn't really know what we was doing, but within a few Redtread tours after listening to Ian's fantastic tuition skills and using his own determination, his riding style is now fabulous, so well done Doug and thanks for all your efforts over the last year or so!
