As you know, Mick Extance works closely alongside Redtread and is attempting his 7th Dakar early 2009 in South America.
We’re always on the look out for people to sponsor him for this, but we have something very special this year and thought we’d write to you and see if you fancied becoming involved.
On the 24th July (which doesn’t give us much time) the BBC Top Gear team will be filming a shoot out against the clock, between a new Landrover Bowler Nemesis and Mick’s Honda CRF450 Dakar bike.
Richard Hammond will be driving the Bowler Nemesis and will be competing against Mick on his Dakar bike.
The footage from this will be going onto Richard Hammonds forthcoming Christmas 2008 DVD usually up for sale in the November and possibly will get shown on one of the Top Gear programmes but this isn’t guaranteed at the moment.
Last years Top gear DVD sold 341,136 units at Christmas. This DVD will be bought by "petrol heads" from all over the UK and the potential for results from the advertising is huge.

Mick’s new PR company are selling space on the bike and on his clothing and intend to actively promote all companies involved with Mick’s sponsorship so not only on Richard Hammonds DVD and the Dakar Race 2009 but also onto databases around the UK that the PR company have access to.
I think he is looking for offers of £500 up to £5000 – the more you spend, the more you’ll be seen!
