Description: I SPENT 2 SEPERATE WEEKS WITH REDTREAD & IT WAS THE THE BEST RIDING EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. THE ROCKY TERRAIN MIXED WITH THE DIRT TRACK PATHS SERVED ME WITH A RIDING EXPERIENCE THAT YOU COULD NOT EXPERIENCE AT HOME. THESE RIDING SKILLS THAT I TOOK HOME WITH ME, HAVE WITHOUT A DOUBT MADE ME A FAR BETTER RIDER IF YOU CAN RIDE THE TRIALS THAT REDTREAD SET BEFORE YOU, IT WONT TAKE YOU LONG TO REALISE THAT YOU WILL BE RETURNING HOME WITH SKILLS THAT YOU NEVER HAD. GOOD LUCK TO ALL. I HOPE THAT YOU DONT FALL OFF AS MANY TIMES AS I DID!! ANDY SELBY.

Description: What a great time! The riding, the weather, the accommodation and the food were all first class. From my slightly 'older' perspective I thought that the 2 days riding was excellent. The pace was spot-on and the difficulty challenging enough without being a worry. Looking back I cannot believe some of the terrain that I rode across – the fact that I survived speaks volumes for Ian’s instruction and Sal's hospitality. Thanks everyone - a repeat is on the cards for October!

Description: Not much more I can add to the wealth of praise already posted for RedTread, but what really stood out for me (apart from the awesome trails & the way Ian links them) was the perfect mix of detailed organisation & flexibility. Ian and Sal really know how to treat their customers & that's why they get so much repeat business.

Description: Well what can i say !!!!
I'm not one for writing & being soppy, but i had such a brill holiday i've got to tell you about it...
Ian & sal.. Two great bubbly people with great sence of humours, they make you feel at home from day one.(Thank you)
Their home is your home for a week,And boy, What a home!!
The scenery is out of this world, Im still trying to take it in & i've been back in the GB for 2 days (With it raining of course.. Right bummer when you've had a week of sunshine).
NOW the riding thats what it's all about!!!
Yee Haa.... if you want to be a better rider, listen to what Ian has to say, cos he watch's you ride then picks up on your bad bits and where your going wrong.. Then gives you advise..
And thats up 2 you whether you heed it or leave it......(And what a rider he is, i learnt a lot!)
If you need any thing on the bikes adjusted to suit you , you only have to ask and it's done..
The trails are out this world again, winding tracks going up and down Mountains,so variable surfaces... Even got a sweeper to help those who fall off and keep you on the right trail, cheer's J (Another sound bloke)
If you think you can handle it you gotta try it, you won't be let down!!!!!!!
Thanks again Ian & Sal for a great hol, hope to see you again soon!!

p.s Martin I'd better show you the way next time!!! Hee Hee

Description: May 2006

Well, where do I begin ?

From the first minute to the last of this holiday everything was first class: The accommodation and facilites, the location, the professional organisation, the quality of the bikes and equipment, the riding experience, the food (and of course the “San Miguel”) but most importantly of all the hospitality and fun provided by our fantastic hosts Ian and Sally!

I have to admit that in the past couple of years my enthusiasm for off-road riding has been on the downward slope, in fact I had not ridden off-road for over a year. A week of riding through the beautiful and often challenging Andalucian landscape however has fully re-kindled my love of all things ‘dirtbikesque’! This is due in no small part to Redtread – riding all day with a great guide / tutor (not to mention being an ex- British Enduro Champion) in Ian, plus the current best British Dakar Rally rider, on superbly prepared and maintained machines (with not one reliability issue all week) and... a cold one (or two) waiting at the end of every day - what more could you want !

Socially things were just as good. Sally and Ian created such a relaxed and welcoming environment, and were determined to ensure that we completely enjoyed our holiday. I can safely say that they succeeded.

There were so many good things about the Redtread experience that I could write several pages about this trip, but I won’t. What I will do though is highly recommend that you sample it yourselves – you will not be disappointed !

Description: There were five of us who arrived at the Redtread mansion (it really is a mansion) in early May 2006, three riders of various abilities and two pit bunny’s (aka long suffering dirt bike widows). We all departed one week later after what can only be described as the trip of a lifetime.
The experience started and finished in a fantastically relaxed atmosphere on the Redtread terrace over a beer or three. In between I experienced some of the best riding and riding instruction you could wish for. It’s not everyday that you benefit from the experiences of a British Enduro champion and Britain’s best Paris Dakar finisher.
The organisation was extremely slick with nothing left to chance. There were regular rider briefings that kept everyone well informed. At all times the sweep rider Paul kept a watchful eye on the less experience riders, monitoring their progress and giving helpful advice and guidance.
During the I week I had the opportunity to ride on a huge variety of terrain from sea level to above the clouds, the views were stunning to say the least.
The bikes were in first class order and I never witnessed one failure from any machine during the trip, a fantastic testament to the bikes and the team maintaining them.
Socially Ian and Sally are the perfect hosts; nothing is too much trouble for their customers. They frequently went above and beyond the call of duty in order to make our visit an experience never to be forgotten.
What about the girls back at the ranch? Well my other half had to be dragged away at the end of the week; she fell in love with the local village (and some of the local builders I’m told!).
To summarise Redtread is not just about a few blokes on bikes, it’s a complete adventure holiday experience that is second to none. To keep the memory alive we came away with a fantastic DVD compilation of the week which included some superb quality action photos taken by Ian. Would I go back? Its not if it’s when.

Description: Many Thanks for a fantastic time

Despite being 57 and only a four year old biker I found the help and guidance given by Ian to be superb!

Great location, great rides and great hospitality (thanks to Sally).

I'll try and get fitter for the next trip so Ian won't have to pick me up so many times!!!

We'll be back in October

Description: Superb !!
4 days stay with 2 days on the bikes.
This was the best activity holiday I've ever done.
The tuition at the track on day one was pitched perfectly and really built my confidence for the trails we went on.
Ian's local knowledge is incredible and we covered places and terrain I'd never dreamed possible (for me).
Both Ian and Sally made us very welcome from the moment we arrived.
We will definitely be back and will be recommending this to all our friends and colleagues.
A BIG thanks for giving us a great time.

See you next year

Description: Fantastic!!!
Special week 15-22nd April had a ball out on the trail and boy can some awesome trails be thrown at you and at pace too!(just dont blink).
Ian, excellent tuition on the track, the knowledge I learnt saved my arse on many a corner.
Thrilling, thrilling stuff on great tracks in superb countryside with some technical specials thrown in for upping the learning curve.
The view from the top (6500ft)on the last day was breathtaking, sitting amongst the spring flowers, watching the wild horses and feeling content with life, especially having got there on two wheels-priceless.
Competa is old whitewashed village Spain, some great food and drink. Accommodation is very good and in a superb position on the hillside for relaxing in the afternoon sun upon returning from a days riding.
Sally and Ian, my kind of spirited, enthusiastic, helpfull people, made it a pleasure to be around them, hats off to the both of you.
Altogether a thrilling weeks ride with a 1st rate outfit bar none.
Daniel

Name: Kev Trim (NEC Competition Winner)
Date: Thursday, 20 April
Description: I could not believe my luck when I won the NEC Bike Show competition for a weekend riding with Redtread in Southern Spain.
After telling a friend about the win he had no hesitation in returning after having done a full weeks ride with Redtread last year.
The accomodation, hospitality and riding experience offered by Sal and Ian was second to none and I can safely say I have never spent a more enjoyable and adrenalin filled few days riding ever!!
The variation of mountain trails coupled with expert tuition at the motorcross track has definitely made me a more confident rider.
As for the scenery - it doesn't get much better than this!
Thanks again guys, here's to next time!

Description: Sal and Ian. A thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish! It was like visiting your mates in the sun. The accommodation was excellent with all the facilities you could need. The riding tuition was friendly, but straight to the point and has improved my riding significantly. The trails were varied and challenging. Spectacular scenery, just don’t pay too much attention when negotiating the windy trails! All of the meals provided were delicious and greatly exceeded my expectations. The local village had excellent restaurants and bars for the evening. Even my wife was impressed when I returned since I had lost 8% body fat! I hope to return soon. Rgds Paul.

Description: "How much fun can you have in three days?"

This was one of the most enjoyable gigs I have done, and that includes a Speedway day.

Ian & Sal have a very potent package here, as well as being wonderful hosts.

The Andalucian mountains behind the Costa del Sol coast are worth seeing in their own right - stunning.

Their full time mechanic makes sure everything is fixed by the next day (if anything needs fixing, that is - er .

Ian can obviously match the trails to your ability but I was impressed by the variety of surfaces from rocky river beds, through smooth-ish dirt tracks, vertical concrete roads to steep shale climbs, chasms, forests, goat tracks to howling across the tops of ridges - Excellent! and the scenery!

I came away thinking I had ridden like a God, scared myself a few times and learned a good deal about off roading, but mostly just had so much fun.

Another surprise is the locals, they don't bat an eyelid at a bunch of pumped up power rangers blatting through their villages - they are all into bikes or forcing the family Seat up a track you wouldn't take a Land Rover. We even got a wave from a bunch of oldies sat on a wall - how different is that?

Basically BOOK this holiday! - before you order your next pizza get on the website and book it. Can I have my crate of San Mig now please Ian - oh and the rib's healing fine.

Name: Dave Weller
Date: Monday, 10 April
Description: Returning to England was the worse part of the trip. Ian was a great guide - although seeing him take some slopes on one wheel whilst I was struggling on two was a bit harsh! ;o) Sal and Ian were great hosts and really make you feel welcome - even if i did crash more times than I care to remember! The accommodation is second to none and the location is great too. Definitley will be keeping in touch and returning some point in the future. Cheers, Dave...
