The Redtread Country retreat, Monte Pino, is solely for the use of our guests and enjoys a Rural setting within a large 1 acre plot of mature gardens, containing olive trees, herb plants, cactus and Pepper trees. Nick and Rachael live onsite too, to make sure you have everything you need at all times.

Facilities

All our suites offer fantastic views over the mountains and down to the Mediterranean Sea, with Tetleys Tea, Nescafe, Sky TV, kitchen, bathroom, and private terraces. There's even a mini bar in all of the 7 suites.

Our large salt water pool and terraces have loads of sunbathing furniture and a Massive BBQ - thanks to our location, none of the property or it's gardens are overlooked.

After a hard days trail riding you can unwind in our well stocked bar into the small hours.

Redtread is based in Competa

Competa village is a typical beautiful whitewashed Spanish village where there are 30 bars and restaurants to choose from. There are banks, lots of shops, supermarkets - just watch out for them closing for siesta at 2pm.

Monte Pino, the luxury Country Mansion exclusively for Redtread customers

Monte Pino is located at the foot of the Natural Park on a South facing slope and is a 10 minute stroll from the traditional mountain village of Competa and literally seconds walk from the beautiful trails of the Sierra Almijara Mountains.

The mansion is solely for Redtread guests so you'll be sharing the facilities with fellow bike riders and will not be subjected to Bingo nights in your hotel whilst you want to discuss the day's riding highlights.

Nerja is the nearest tourist town and is approx 35 minutes drive from Redtread whilst Velez Malaga is the nearest shopping Spanish town and is also approx 35 minutes away.

The Coast and nearest beach is 30 minutes drive from Redtread where there are plenty of beaches to choose from with facilities for toilet and restaurants.

Malaga airport is 50 minutes drive from Redtread, alternatively Granada airport is only 90 minutes away, we will happily arrange your Airport Transfers.

Tennis, squash, scuba diving, horse riding and golf (for beginners or intermediate players) facilities are all within easy reach of Competa. Further a-field such fascinating destinations such as Granada, Cordoba, Ronda, Seville, Tarifa, Gibraltar and Africa are all within a day's travel.

The nearest golf course is only 30 minutes drive away at Baviera Golf, Caleta where 18 holes should cost you no more than €30. The Baviera Golf course is situated between the mountains of the Sierra Tejeda and the ocean at Caleta de Velez. You can see the peak of Mount Maroma in the background, often covered in snow during the colder of the winter months, and as you turn you can see the beautiful sea and beaches of Caleta.

Set in the fantastic Almijara mountains, 5 minutes drive from Redtread, is Los Caballos del Mosquin which offers horse treks and riding lessons to beginners and expert riders. Eva founded Mosquin in 1999 and has had riding stables in the area since 1989 and has 14 years experience leading horse treks in the area. We highly recommend Eva and her horses.

Should you feel a sudden urge for skiing, the Sierra Nevada's fine resorts are less than two hours away.
